Pratt Fine Arts Center is pleased to present Configuration, a two person show featuring Seattle artists Scott Trimble and Laura Ward. Both artists are inspired by the spatial relationships and patterns found in architecture and create work in wood, glass and mixed media.

Pratt Fine Arts Center is pleased to present an exhibition of work by Visiting Artist Juan Alonso. Juan will teach a workshop Art for the Socially Aware in Pratt’s Painting Studios, July 9 -11. The workshop is based on Juan’s body of work titled Grey Matters and will focus on the power of images, conveying a thought without being literal.

Juan is this year’s recipient of the Mayor’s Art Award and a past Neddy award winner. He is originally from Cuba. His work is in public collections at Microsoft and the Tacoma Art Museum.

Gallery in the Garden features handblown glass, forged ironwork and more, all created by local artists. Bring beauty and drama to your outdoor living areas by adding fun decorative elements or a stunning original sculpture.

Proceeds from the sale are split 50/50 between Pratt Fine Arts Center and local artists.

Prominent organizations from Seattle’s glass art community are collaborating to present The Brychtovà Forum – Women Artists Working in Glass: Celebrating Innovation and Vision Across Generations, a four-day series of free lectures, panel discussions, and events to be held July 15 – 18, 2010. The Brychtovà Forum was conceived to celebrate the rich tradition of women working in glass while also recognizing the life and work of one of the most important artists in the history of the glass movement.

Art Bridge provides four emerging artists from Washington State with stipends towards course work, supplies and portfolio development. The artists also have an opportunity to participate in the Artist Trust EDGE program.
