Master Artist Workshop: Production Methods For Steel Jewelry | 11/17 Sarah Loertscher
Learn to fabricate with mild steel in this workshop designed to acquaint you with an affordable alternative to precious metals. You will learn to manipulate and solder steel, inlay solder into steel, and finish steel for wearability. Being both strong and easily available, steel allows you to experiment without fear of expense or size. We will be utilizing the manufacturing process of water jet cutting, which will allow you to design and create multiples in order for you to quickly experiment and alter a basic design. This process can be a helpful foray into creating a uniform production line. In order to have all water jet cuttings available on the first day of class, you will need to sign up at least TWO WEEKS in advance, and prepare for a design consultation via phone with Sarah before the class begins. Expect to complete a small collection of your own designs.
Prerequistie: Beginning Jewelry/Metals or equivalent.
