Glass Studios

From glassblowing and flameworking to sandblasting and coldworking, Pratt's Glass Studios are fully-equipped to meet the needs of students and artists at many levels of experience.

Our studios offer:

The Hot Shop: Available for both blowing and casting glass.

975 lb. day tank with Spruce Pine batch
3 glory holes of 15", 18" and 24" diameter appropriate for any size work
annealing space with the option to rent more included with rental
full array of hand tools, pipes and hot shop equipment to support many styles of glass making
regular weekly blow slots can be scheduled at quarterly meetings

Rates:
Glassblowing: $145/slot
Pratt Hot Shop Rental card awards $50 discount to the 5th blowslot purchased.
Hot Glass Casting: Information upon request
Kilns & Ovens: $40/day casting annealer;$20/day oval kiln, annealer #4, annealer #5.

The Cold Shop: The only rentable cold shop in Seattle! Completely remodeled fall of 2006

belt sander, three flatting wheels, drill press, Merker lathe, polishing lathe, bandsaw, diamond saw, flex shaft, and hand lapping supplies

Rates: $15/hr (with $15 minimum)

Sandblasters:

one siphon blaster and one pressure pot sandblaster with 100g aluminum oxide

Rates: $30/hr (with $15 minimum)

The Flameworking Studio:

Pratt's flameworking studio is fully equipped to meet the needs of flameworking artists at any level.

largest rentable flameworking studio in the Puget Sound area
10 work stations
10 major and 10 minor torches
2 bead kilns, 2 medium annealing kilns and 1 annealing kiln for larger work
full array of hand tools

Rates: $30/day or $150/month
