Shruti Ghatak received her Master of Fine arts degree in Painting from New York Studio School, NY and an MS in Organic Chemistry (specialized in Color technology) from Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India. She has an interdisciplinary background and studied both Science and Art with the belief that crossing boundaries sometimes opens up new ways of seeing. She enjoys drawing and painting a variety of subjects from life, memory and imagination including figures, landscapes, still life and portraits. Shruti has been teaching adult and youth courses in Seattle area ever since she moved to Seattle in 2013. If she is not in her studio, you can find her in her garden or out in the city with her sketchbook or iPad. She exhibited nationally and internationally including Hackett Mill Gallery, CA, Prince Street Gallery, NYC, Montclaire Art Museum, NJ. Birla Academy of Art and Culture, India, Ganges Art Gallery, India, Shoreline City Hall Gallery, WA and Center on Contemporary Art, Seattle.
