Wood Studios @Pratt
From woodturning to carving and wood working projects, Pratt's wood studios are fully equipped to meet the needs of students and artists at many levels of experience
Welcome to our Woodworking Studio, where creativity meets craftsmanship! Whether you’re a seasoned artisan or just starting out, we are set up to be an inclusive space where everyone can explore the art of woodworking. In our classes, students learn how to safely use the studio’s equipment, including various saws, drills, and sanders. We also offer hybrid classes that use both power tools and hand tools, as well as specialty woodworking classes including spoon carving, broom-making, furniture design, and Kumiko. Join us as we learn, share and build together in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Pratt’s Woodturning studio is designed for everyone, from beginners to seasoned wood turners, to explore the art and craft of woodturning. In our woodturning classes, you’ll learn the technical skills needed to shape and finish wood using the lathe to make bowls, spindles, and more. Whether you are here to start a new hobby, enhance your existing skills, or simply enjoy the experience of working with wood, at Pratt, you’ll find a supportive community where all are welcome. Let’s turn some wood and have fun doing it!
