Study Abroad in Barcelona, Spain: Etching and Gold Leaf with Lluvia Cisneros and Romson Regarde Bustillo

Join Pratt and fellow creatives on our upcoming Study Abroad program to Barcelona, Spain this coming fall: Oct. 5-9, 2026! Participants will have the chance to join Maestra Lluvia Cisneros at LaMaldita Estampa, a welcoming studio in the lively Eixample neighborhood, to explore the playful and unique possibilities of combining etching and pan de oro (gold leaf) with mixed media techniques. No experience necessary.

The fun doesn't stop at the studio! Multidisciplinary artist and Pratt creative community member, Romson Bustillo, will host five days of exquisite lunches and tapas outings, paired with guided afternoon cultural tours in the city he calls his second home. Together, participants will visit iconic landmarks like Gaudí’s Sagrada Família, the Picasso Museum, and take inspiring walks through the magical neighborhoods of Gràcia and El Born.

Tuition costs cover the following:
All workshop sessions! (art supplies are provided) • Delicious lunches + Spanish tapas • A festive welcome dinner • Closing reception • Entry fees for 5 museums/cultural institutions • Access to local transportation

Study Abroad in Chacala, Mexico: Collaging with Taku-Hon and Drypoint
​​​​​​​Feb 1-5, 2027

Work with Mexican artists Mercedes Lopez and Miguel Perez in the beautiful seaside town of Chacala. Located a couple hours north of Puerto Vallarta, this town is where the jungle meets the ocean. Be inspired by the petroglyphs at Alta Vista the ancient home of the Tecoxquin (2000 BCE). Swim in the warm waters of the Pacific.

Learn the ancient Japanese ink rubbing technique of Taku-hon to create both flat as well as 3D images working with the surrounding natural environment as well as the petroglyphs. Combine and collage rubbings with dry point prints to create unique artworks.

Tuition costs cover the following:
Workshops • Breakfast + Welcome and Goodbye Dinners •Travel to + from the airport •  Lodging (Sunday-Friday)

Study Abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico: Footprint & Ghost - Huella y Fantasma
Feb 15-19, 2027

Explore Oaxacan Print Studios and Galleries in the early evenings, including a visit to our own Fulgencio Lazo’s studio fulgenciolazoart, while creating prints during the day. Starting with an initial drawing you will create your own small edition during this five ½ day intensive at Grafica Zanate, in Jalatlaca one of the oldest sections of the city, with Master Printer Daniel Flores.

We will employ contemporary methods combining traditional etching techniques with an experimental approach. You will print a metal etched plate with a wood block that can be utilized as a flat color, or you can take advantage of the natural grains of wood to create organic textures.

Experience some of the best food in the world while visiting this culturally rich and colorful city with us.
